Believe it or not, the Walt Disney Company has been active for 100 years. And to celebrate the centenary, a historic 100th Anniversary Exhibition hit London’s ExCel Centre at the end of last year, beginning October 13, 2023.
While the massive event was supposed to last for just a few months, it sold more than 185,000 tickets and became a massive success. As a result, it will be returning to London from March 6, 2024, and will run until April 30, 2024.
Tickets for the enormous exhibition are out now, and you can buy yours right here.
Opening its vault of historical and special treasure, the Disney100 Exhibition boasts “works of art, reprographics, costumes and props, and other memorabilia” all wrapped up in a magical kingdom wrapper.
These exceptional props and items include items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the Star Wars Saga – as seen below.
Don’t take their word for it though: Our critic George Simpson recently reviewed the monumental event, giving it five stars along the way.
He described it as “rare opportunity” that British fans should lap up while they can.
The exhibition took four years to assemble, and many of these items and artefacts are on display to fans for the first time ever.
Attendees will be able to venture into the Where Do the Stories Come From? gallery where the actual prop storybook from the opening scene of the 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Likewise, Mary Poppins’ carousel horse which Dick Van Dyke rode in the movie will be on display.
On top of that, some of the biggest and best Star Wars props will be in attendance – including a life-size BB8 droid and a set of Storm Trooper armour.
Pirates of the Caribbean gets a look in, as well, with the Black Pearl in a bottle in all its glory.
Marvel has its own section too, with some of the most iconic helmets on display, including Iron Man, Captain America and Ant-Man.
Becky Cline, the director of the Walt Disney Archives said: “We are incredibly excited to bring this fantastic exhibition to London. We can’t wait for guests in the UK to experience their favourite Disney stories, characters, and attractions in new and immersive ways as we celebrate all the wonderful worlds of Disney.”
