Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) administration has announced dry days in the district, including Guwahati, from April 17 to April 19. This decision aligns with the upcoming first phase of general elections in Meghalaya on April 19. The prohibition will be effective from 4 PM on April 17 until the conclusion of polling on April 19. As per the official order, all wholesale warehouses, bonded warehouses, IMFL retail ON and OFF shops, microbrewery, and country spirit shops must remain closed during this period. This move aims to maintain peace and order during the electoral process.
The district administration have emphasized strict adherence to these regulations, warning of consequences for any individual or establishment found violating the imposed restrictions.
