Duchess Sophie’s new look has not gone down well as fans offer her fashion advice | Royal | News

Duchess Sophie looked chic in a blue print dress whilst on day three of her Colombia visit on Thursday night.

The royal attended the Moda-Paz-Sostenibilidad fashion showcase which featured the work of designers impacted by the armed conflict, including ex-combatants and survivors.

She said: “This show not only represents a fusion of fashion and environmental responsibility, but also serves as a celebration of the resilience and creativity of those who crafted it.”

Sophie wore the Vitali Printed Linen Maxi Dress by Zimmerman which retails at £672. She paired the look with a pair of High Catalina Cotton Espadrilles by Penelope Chilvers. The shoes retail at £141.

But royal fans were not impressed with the look and offered the duchess some royal advice.

One fan took to Instagram and said: “This dress deserves better shoes” while another one added: “No crazy about these shoes with the dress.”

A third one wrote: “Looks oversized and frumpy, sorry.. and those shoes need [to be] exiled back to 2007!” while another one said: “Can someone tell her to stop wearing espadrilles?”

The Duchess of Edinburgh visited Colombia this week where she took engagements in support of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (WPS).

Earlier on Thursday, Prince Edward’s wife visited the La Licorera, the city’s cultural centre for dance and choreography, where she learned more about the British Council’s new Creative Bootcamp: Dance and Peace program.

She also met with dancers from the Colombian Ballet Institute to hear about the positive role the arts played in healing communities and building peace.

Sophie also attended a roundtable discussion with Colombian PSVI stakeholders as the country prepared to take on the role of Chair of the International Alliance on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict in 2024. The event also marked the one-year anniversary of the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict International Conference which took place in London last year.
