Electric scooter in a suitcase! See how the Honda Motocompacto transforms

The 2023 Japan Mobility Show is currently underway and big auto-related announcements are being reported from the event. From the all-new Suzuki Swift concept to the HondaPrelude electric concept car, Japanese automakers are showcasing cutting-edge tech and setting the stage for years to come. Apart from the concept car, Honda has also showcased a unique approach towards small-scale personal mobility.Enter the Motocompacto, an electric scooter with a modular architecture that allows it to fold like a suitcase when not in use.

The electric two-wheeler is a personal mobility solution for short distances and looks ultra-futuristic. As we can see in the video, it is a very unassuming suitcase-like form when disarmed. In a matter of moments, the user can pull up the handlebar with the attached brake control and also attach the seat to the special mount on the back of the Motocompacto. It even gets a pair of footrests and a side stand along with a headlamp unit on the front. The handlebar has a digital display to offer the rider some basic information such as state of charge, speed and more.
