Epson’s presence at GITEX Global showcased traditional Japanese artwork, printed and displayed using its technology, to offer visitors a taste of Japanese culture.

Shihab Zubair, Regional Sales Manager – Commercial and Industrial, Epson Middle East said exclusively to Arab News Japan about their participation at this edition of GITEX Global.

“We are using GITEX Global as a platform to introduce our latest range of high-quality, eco-conscious technology solutions, including a new range of efficient scanners, laser projectors, home cinema projectors and a new industrial colour label printer for on-demand in-house printing in sectors such as food and beverages, healthcare and logistics.

“Having recently launched our new regional headquarters for the META-CWA (Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central & West Asia) region in Dubai, GITEX Global is also an opportunity to engage customers, partners and new prospects.

“Epson has increased investment in personnel in the region by 45 percent from 2022 to 2024 and increased investment in facilities by 28.6 percent during the same period, as part of our strategy to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology solutions tailored to local demands. We are confident that this enhanced offering will enable us to connect with a wide range of new opportunities,” he said.

“Epson’s deep-rooted Japanese heritage is part of this year’s theme at GITEX Global, showcased through printing solutions and immersive experiences on-ground. Epson has been enriching lives and creating a better world through its technology for over 80 years, adhering to the philosophies of ‘Sho-Sho-Sei’ (compact, precise and efficient) and ‘Monozukuri’ (the art and science of manufacturing)”.

“Epson’s stand creates a unique atmosphere with copies of famous Japanese artworks printed using the Epson SureColor printers, offering an immersive experience that exhibits traditional and cultural Japanese identities,” he added.

About the response and feedback from the people who came to your booth at GITEX Global this year, Zubair said:” The response so far has been very strong, particular since sustainability is such a key consideration among businesses and consumers these days. Epson has long been a pioneer in eco-conscious technology, having committed EUR 770 million to switch to renewable energy sources and reduce global emissions. To date, Epson has sold more than 90 million EcoTank printers worldwide, avoiding 756,752 tonnes of Co2 emissions from consumables in this time. Our new launches at GITEX Global reflect this important commitment, along with our range of waste-reducing solutions, heat-free technologies and products designs for extended life”.

“In addition, with automation a hot topic at this year’s GITEX Global, we’re seeing a very positive response to innovations like the new WorkForce DS-900WN, a high-speed, open-platform scanner for streamlined document management, simplified digitalization and automated workflows. Solutions like this one align with the wider project to create smart offices, smart cities and ultimately smarter societies,” he added.

Regarding Epson upcoming projects and activities following GITEX Global 2024, Zubair said:” We are very excited about upcoming projects for Epson in this region. As mentioned, our new regional headquarters will provide us with a platform to engage new customers and deliver tailored solutions that align with local demands. We have strategically expanded our workforce and streamlined management processes, looking to foster local talent and benefit from scaling operations in the region. We are using vendor partnerships to optimize operations in areas such as logistics, distribution, and other service functions, contributing to greater efficiency and the development of local ecosystems”.

“Epson is planning to open a new Innovation Centre in Dubai in 2024 that is set to play a key role in local product distribution and development. This major new facility will provide customers will a window into our development processes and the opportunity to help shape the next generation of high-quality products for the regional market,” he added.

Supporting customers to reduce their environmental impact through sustainable technologies is a particular focus for Epson META-CWA, with ongoing investments in initiatives and processes that limit its own environmental impact. Epson have switched to 100% renewable electricity globally in Epson owned sites by the end of 2023.

Epson’s goal is to become carbon negative and eliminate use of exhaustible underground resources such as oil and metal by 2050.
