Faulconbridge, Blue Mountains deaths: Major update after two boys found dead at Blue Mountains home

A mother has been charged with murder after her two sons were found dead at their Blue Mountains home earlier this week.

The boys’ father allegedly found Russell Smith, 11, and his younger brother Ben, 9, inside the Faulconbridge house just before 1pm on Tuesday.

Their mother Trish Smith, 42, was also found with multiple stab wounds and spent Tuesday night under police guard in hospital, where she arrived in a critical but stable condition.

Investigators had declined to speculate on what occurred before the brothers died but said they were not looking for any other parties.

Since the deaths, bouquets of flowers, teddy bears and toy cars have been placed outside the family’s home.

Tributes to the boys were propped against the fence as a photo of the smiling, dark-haired siblings was publicly released by their family.
