Clavell celebrated her graduation as a corrections officer in 2022, swearing to fulfil her duties faithfully and according to the law.

Two years later, she broke it while working at the Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Centre.

On Wednesday, Penrith Local Court was told Clavell’s romance with armed robber Mark Kennedy lasted for months,

She fell pregnant and told her colleague, Jessica Elguindy, who was also having a relationship with an inmate.

“I’m literally pregnant,” she wrote, adding “I’m an idiot”.

“No your (sic) not, you are such a smart girl with such a bright future ahead,” Elguindy replied.

“Gonna have a proper discussion about it tonight. We are taking today to process and decide what we think,” Clavell said.

“He was so caring last night.”

Things came to an end in April when Clavell was caught smuggling 33g of crystal meth into the jail for her lover.

Clavell pleaded guilty to six charges including misconducting herself in public office, accessing and modifying restricted data and engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate causing risk to safety.

Elguindy received a 12-month bond for her illicit affair after admitting to the intimate relationship with an inmate and accessing restricted data.

Clavell was sentenced to an intensive correction order for two years and three months and 200 hours of community service.

The women were sacked by Corrective Services NSW in May.
