Luxury fashion brand Fendi announced the promotion of Joanna Dubin to the role of worldwide managing director of retail and wholesale, effective September 2.

Dubin currently serves as president of Fendi Americas. In her new role, the executive will be relocated to Fendi’s Roman headquarters, and will report to its freshly appointed chief executive officer, Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou.

Dubin succeeds Giuseppe Oliveri, who is leaving the brand to explore opportunities outside of parent company LVMH Group.

A luxury veteran, Dubin joined Fendi in January 2019 after a four-year stint at Louis Vuitton Americas, where she served as senior vice president, merchandising in New York.

Prior to that, she worked as CEO of Gilt Groupe Japan, after a stint as general merchandising manager. Earlier in her career, Dubin was senior director of digital merchandising and planning at Coach, after working  at Ralph Lauren as senior director of merchandising. She cut her teeth in the buying division of Bergdorf Goodman.

Replacing Dubin as Fendi Americas president is Valentina Lucaj, who moves to Fendi, effective September 16. Lucaj will be based in New York, and will report Dubin, as confirmed by Fendi.

Like Dubin, Lucaj joins Fendi after a 6-year stint at Louis Vuitton, working most recently as vice president, merchandising.

Before Louis Vuitton, the executive spent four years as east coast regional director at Kering-owned Saint Laurent.

The leadership changes come just two months after Angeloglou took on the top leadership spot at Fendi. The executive, who was appointed CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group (of which Fendi is a member) last March, took over as CEO of the Roman fashion house on June 1.
