“Tell me I’m not the only one who didn’t know this?!” she captioned a video explaining the hack.

“My nanna was recently staying at our house… and my daughter loves berries. Loves berries,” Andie explained.

“And we buy them from Woolies, just in these containers.”

The mum showed viewers the kind of container she meant by holding up a punnet of strawberries – which come in plastic packaging with holes in.

“But they always go off, after a couple of days,” the mum lamented.

“So my nanna said, ‘Why don’t you just store them in glass jars?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know nanna. Why don’t I store them in glass jars?’

“So I tried it. I tested it. I had some strawberries in this glass jar… Look at the strawberry,” an astonished Andie continued, holding up a plump red fruit.

“It’s perfect. It’s been in the fridge for probably nearly two weeks.”

In the comments section, Andie confirmed she had tried the hack on strawberries, blackberries and blueberries and said the glass jar needed to have the lid on.

Her advice stunned viewers.

“Nanna!! Why you holding out on these adultier adult secrets? We’re out here suffering,” one viewer joked.

“I had no idea. I’m definitely trying this. Thank you for sharing,” another wrote.

“Omg. Ours are rotten In 3 days. Off to buy some jars,” another added.
