Fortnite update 30.40 patch notes, downtime, Fall Guys, FNAF latest, end of season event | Gaming | Entertainment

Withe the current season ending in less than two weeks, Fortnite fans are eagerly awaiting the release of what could be the final major update of Chapter 5, Season 3. Fortnite update 30.40 has an August 6 release date on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android. The big new Fortnite update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which will take all game modes offline for maintenance. The server downtime kicks off at 9am BST UK time, although matchmaking will be disabled at around 8.30am BST. While the game will be offline for at least a couple of hours, that gives users plenty of time to download the update, which adds new content to the game, all the while making a series of gameplay tweaks and bug fixes.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect from update 30.40.

“Where we Fallin’?” reads an Epic Games tweet. “Downtime for v30.40 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”

As you can see from the brief teaser trailer below, the next update will feature new Fall Guys content.

However, while the Fall Guys content sounds like a lot of fun, it’s another rumoured crossover that really had fans buzzing with excitement. There were rumours that Fortnite would partner with Five Nights at Freddy’s after the new update.

Unfortunately, however, the FNAF crossover was actually with the multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, although fingers crossed the franchise comes to Fortnite at some point in the future.

As for Fortnite update 30.40, Epic Games is likely to add files related to a possible end of season event, as well as hints about Season 4.

The Minigun is also rumoured to be making a return, alongside the usual array of new item shop skins and lots more.

Daily Express will keep this article updated with all the new leaks and information, so keep checking back for details.

In the meantime, you can check out the update 30.40 patch notes below.
