The frontman of an Australian indie rock band has been caught allegedly stealing a roast chicken and iced coffee from a Sydney supermarket.
Lead singer of Sydney band Sticky Fingers, Dylan James Frost has pleaded not guilty to a shoplifting offence of under $2000, court documents obtained by 7NEWS.com.au revealed.
Frost’s case was mentioned at Downing Centre Local Court, on Monday morning.

He is listed to appear back at Sydney Downing Centre on 30 September 2024.
The 34-year-old allegedly stole a half-priced roast chicken and an Ice Break Double Espresso at Woolworths Metro in Haymarket on June 27, The Daily Telegraph reported.
According to the Telegraph, the court registrar recorded that Frost was “in the process of putting himself into a drug and alcohol rehab program”.
Frost had earlier been at the centre of controversy when allegations of racial abuse were made against the singer in 2016.
Artist Thelma Plum said she feared she would be hit when Frost allegedly verbally abused her at a Camperdown pub, and Frost also reportedly interrupted punk act Dispossessed as they discussed Indigenous issues onstage.
Frost later made a statement in 2018 announcing his sobriety following rehabilitation and acknowledging his mental health issues and previous substance abuse.
He denied the allegations against him, adding that “racism and violence are never OK”.
“I do not condone or excuse violence against women,” he said. “It really upsets me now that through a series of misinterpreted accounts of events, I’ve now been seen as a symbol of something I detest.”
The charges against Frost come just months after a member of another Australian indie rock band, Ocean Alley, was caught shoplifting at a camping and fishing store in New Zealand.
Vocalist and keyboard player Lachlan Galbraith was forced to issue a statement on social media in January 2024, after a photo emerged of him putting something in his bag at Hiking and Fishing Queenstown.
The CCTV photo of Galbraith was posted online by the store, who called the musician out.
The store said Galbraith had stolen a Yeti drink bottle lid. They asked him to return it before the band left town.
The store later made a post on Facebook that appeared to suggest the issue had been resolved.
“Thanks to the guys from Ocean Alley for reaching out,” it said.
In an Instagram story on Monday, Galbraith admitted he had stolen a drink bottle lid and apologised for his actions, calling it a “complete act of foolishness”.
