GATE 2024: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore is taking late applications for GATE 2024 starting from October 13. If you didn’t apply for GATE 2024 yet, visit gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The last day to apply with a late fee is October 20, 2023. The GATE 2024 exam is on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. It’s a Computer Based Test (CBT) and has a new test paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA).
For GATE 2024, there is an application late fee depending on the category. Female candidates, as well as those in the SC, ST, and PwD categories, will need to pay a late fee of Rs. 1,400. Other candidates, including foreign nationals, are required to pay a late fee of Rs. 2,300. These fees apply to those who have missed the initial application deadline and need to apply during the extended period, starting today.
When you apply, give your personal and academic details, pay the GATE application fee, and upload the necessary documents in the format they ask for.
There are 30 test papers in English, and they are all objective type. The questions can be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

For MCQs, you pick one correct answer out of four options. For MSQs, you pick one or more correct answers out of four options. For NAT questions, you type in the answer using a virtual keypad. You should use the on-screen virtual calculator they give you for your calculations.
You can choose to take one or two test papers, and you have to pick from the combinations they offer. If they add new combinations, you can change your choices. If your chosen test papers have conflicting schedules, you will get a chance to choose different ones.
Some test papers might have multiple sessions, but you only need to take the exam once for each test paper.
If you’re in the third year or higher of an undergraduate program or have finished an approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, or Humanities, you can take GATE 2024. There’s no age limit.
Apply online through the GATE 2024 Application Portal on the GATE 2024 website. Your GATE 2024 score will be good for three years from when they announce the results.
If you have a B.D.S., B.V.Sc., or B.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry, you can also apply for GATE 2024. But remember, the exam is only in India, with test centers in more than 200 cities and towns.
