Gautam Adani Was Kidnapped
In 1998, Gautam Adani and his companion, Shantilal Patel, were kidnapped at gunpoint by goons in Ahmedabad. The two were leaving Karnavati Club in a car when their vehicle was attacked by goons.
According to Financial Express, the bandits, riding scooters, forced the car to stop and abducted both Gautam Adani and Shantilal Patel. They were taken to an unknown location and a ransom of Rs 15 Crores was demanded for their release. They were both released the same day.
Much later when he spoke about the incident, Adani said: “Two or three very unfortunate incidents happened in my life, that is one of them.”
Adani Survived 26/11 Terrorist Attack
Gautam Adani has also survived the Mumbai terror attacks while at the Taj Mahal Hotel. He was held hostage and spent the night in the hotel basement before being rescued. Recalling the harrowing experience, he noted he saw “death at 15 feet.”
Adani narrowly escaped death while dining at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Terrorists stormed the hotel, forcing him and others to take refuge in the basement overnight until they were safely evacuated. Following the attack, Adani described the experience, recalling how close he was to death.
