Get Over Yourself And Everything Else In This Jeep Pickup That’s Ready For Anything

If you recently watched the film “Twisters” in theaters, or saw our pro-Jeep truck propaganda about it, and decided you needed to get yourself into a vehicle that you could reasonably call a “rig,” then this is the Jeep for you. This 4-wheel-drive manual-transmission Jeep J-10 is built for the explicit purpose of looking cool as all hell. I suppose it has a secondary purpose of going off-road and providing you the ability to camp there when you’re done. And if you’re doing your off-roading at night, the truck comes with enough lumens of aftermarket spot light to make it daytime at midnight.

The old-school two-door bench-seat shifter-on-the-floor truck is the absolute pinnacle of cool truck design, and this Jeep has cool in heaps. Aside from aesthetic upgrades, this truck is pretty much in the same spec as it left the factory, with just 38,000 miles on the odometer. The sellers threw on a set of steel wheels and off-roady tires, mechanically reconditioned everything (including a rebuilt 258ci inline-six engine just 500 miles ago), and threw a rack and tent on the back. No matter, it was ready to go anywhere in 1984, and it’s just as ready to go today.

If this were my truck I’d probably pull the rack and tent off and just drive it around as-is. I love the red-white-blue AMC stripes, the black wrap with original white paint accents, and the flares. It’s just a solid look with a no-nonsense kind of appeal. What’s not to love?

This looks like a real jammer of a truck and it can probably go up most trails without too much trouble, albeit slowly. I’d probably consider adding a winch if you wanted to get serious about off-roading it.

Anyway, the truck is up on eBay if you are looking for a fun new ride. It’s offered from Primo Classics International in Florida, and they show a listing for the truck at $24,900. That’s a bit more than I’d want to spend, and the bidding is currently open at $10,000, so see if you can get yourself a deal and drop a nice bid number in there.
