Gucci is strengthening its management team with the addition of Cayetano Fabry as its new chief commercial officer. The brand did not have to look far, as Fabry was serving as president of the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) at Saint Laurent, another label under the Kering umbrella.

Fabry’s background includes a wealth of luxury sector experience, coupled with a strong international portfolio. He holds a master’s degree in business law from the University of Paris Nanterre and another in law from the Complutense University of Madrid. He further honed his management skills at Sciences Po Paris. Fabry began his career at LVMH, working at Louis Vuitton for 16 years in various operational roles, advancing to regional management positions across Europe and South America.

During his tenure at Louis Vuitton, Fabry served as managing director for the UK, Ireland, and South Africa, and previously for Italy, as well as Mexico and the Caribbean. He joined Kering in 2020 as president of the EMEA region.

For Gucci, this appointment to its commercial leadership comes at a crucial moment as the brand undergoes a strategic reorganisation and revitalisation. Earlier this September, the house announced the hiring of Davide Buzzoni as global communications director, following the May appointment of Stefano Cantino as deputy general manager, a new role created to support CEO Jean-François Palus. Palus has been leading Gucci for a year, while creative direction has been entrusted to Sabato De Sarno, who took over in early 2023 following Alessandro Michele’s departure.
