Gucci has unveiled a holiday installation at Sweet Bird North Plaza in Miami’s Design District, blending holiday cheer with the house’s travel-inspired heritage.
Running through January 7, the snow globe installation showcases elements of Gucci’s legacy, including a tribute to founder Guccio Gucci’s early career as a porter at The Savoy hotel in London, which first inspired the brand’s renowned luggage pieces.
The display features Gucci’s iconic luggage collection—ranging from embossed GG Monogram trunks to suitcases—set against miniature, animated recreations of landmarks tied to Gucci’s narrative. These include Palazzo Gucci in Florence, the Wooster Street boutique in New York, and flagship stores in Paris and London.
Coinciding with the installation, Sweet Bird North Plaza is hosting an expanded Gucci takeover featuring a series of Art Walls, created in collaboration with American artist Corydon Cowansage.
Located between the square and Gucci’s boutique, the three murals feature adaptations of one of the artist’s existing works that draw inspiration from trailblazing women artists like Judy Chicago and Zilia Sanchez. Displayed against a pale blue backdrop, the works are reminiscent of floating lips and align with Cowansage’s participation in Miami Art Basel.
Gucci’s festive celebration extends beyond Miami to the façade of Palazzo Gucci in Florence, which was illuminated in recent days. The Florentine façade will remain lit until January 17.
