Almost one year to the day that Hailey Bieber proclaimed summer 2023 a “strawberry girl summer,” she’s decided to extend the decree to 2024. Yesterday, she once again returned to her favorite color—though, she also reminded us that a lot can change in a year.
Bieber posed for a photo with husband Justin, cradling her third-trimester baby bump, which she swaddled in a red boatneck minidress with an asymmetrical shoulder detail. (Although, in microtrend-speak, it was arguably more “tomato girl summer” than strawberry.) Where does one find such a dress? Why, Kylie Jenner and her clothing brand Khy, of course! One is never on maternity leave from promoting their bestie’s clothing line, after all.
Justin, for his part, looked dapper in a black short-sleeve button-up, crisp below-the-knee khaki shorts, and a pair of black-and-white tasseled loafers worn with black socks. And, despite the near-triple-digit temperatures in Los Angeles, he added a gray angora bucket hat from Madhappy.
While Bieber remains loyal to last summer’s vibrant red, she is also showing love to this year’s hue du jour: butter yellow. The Rhode founder wore a pair of pointy-toe kitten heel slingbacks from Jacquemus with her tomato-colored dress. The mother-to-be has been all in on the soft shade of yellow, donning it in the form of a sheer maxi dress with a structural peplum top (also Jacquemus) for her baby shower just last week.
Traditionally, the color is also the go-to for gender neutral baby showers. Perhaps Justin and Hailey Bieber are keeping the sex of Baby Bieber under wraps—or maybe they’re in for a surprise themselves!
