HAYWARD – BART on Thursday briefly closed its Hayward station following a report of a person possibly hit by a train.
The person’s condition was not immediately known.
The station was closed at 5:53 p.m. for an investigation, said BART spokesperson Chris Filippi. Trains were allowed to run through but not stop at the station, while buses provided an alternative means of transportation.
The station reopened around 6:45 p.m., Filippi said. Riders were advised to expect residual delays.
