The US markets ended lower on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.67 per cent to USD 83.18 a barrel.
Equity benchmark indices declined in early trade on Monday dragged by Reliance Industries and Kotak Mahindra Bank along with weak global market trends.
The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 504 points to 80,100.65 in early trade. The NSE Nifty dropped 168.6 points to 24,362.30.
Among the Sensex pack, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank were the biggest laggards.
UltraTech Cement, NTPC, HDFC Bank and Power Grid were among the gainers. HDFC Bank climbed 1.57 per cent after the company’s consolidated net profit grew 33.17 per cent to Rs 16,474.85 crore in the June 2024 quarter.

- Quarter Results: Coforge, Cyient DLM, Jana Small Finance Bank, Zensar Technologies, Mahindra Logistics, IDBI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Suzlon Energy, UCO Bank, and others will declare their Q1FY25 results on Monday.
- HDFC Bank Stock: The Lender reported a standalone net profit of Rs 16,174.8 crore for the April-June period, with a growth of 35.3 percent compared with the corresponding period a year ago.
- JK Cement Stock: Company reported a 67 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 184.82 crore for the first quarter ended June 2024.
- Vedanta Stock: The company has been declared as the ‘preferred bidder’ for the Gollarahatti-Mallenahalli Nickel Chromium and PGE Block and Genjana Nickel, Chromium and PGE Block.
- BPCL Stock: The company fixed August 9 as the record date for dividend of Rs 10.5/- per equity share for the financial year 2023-24.
- JSW Infrastructure Stock: JSW Infrastructure approved the purchase of assets under construction at 30 MTPA slurry pipeline project in Odisha’s Nuagaon mines from JSW Utkal Steel for Rs 1,700 crore.
- Vodafone Idea Stock: Vodafone Idea’s (Vi) Board approved allotment of the equity shares totalling Rs 614.5 crore on a preferential basis to its two European network gear vendors Nokia and Ericsson.
- Anant Raj Stock: Company owned subsidiary signed an agreement with Google LLC to provide data center infrastructure, DC managed services, and cloud platform to various public and private enterprises.
- IRCTC Stock: The Ministry of Railways announced the up-gradation of IRCTC from ‘Schedule B’ to ‘Schedule A’ Category, Central Public Sector Enterprises.
- ONGC Stock: ONGC Videsh signed a definitive Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) for directly acquiring 0.615% Participating Interest (PI) in Offshore Azeri Chirag Gunashli (ACG) oil field in Azerbaijan from Equinor.
- Vedanta Stock: Vedanta Ltd raised 85 billion rupees (USD 1.0 billion) through a QIP that opened on July 15 at 440 rupees per share, a company statement said on Sunday.
- Kotak Mahindra Bank Stock: Lender reported PAT at Rs 7,448 crore vs Rs 4,150 crore YoY. GNPA 1.39% vs 1.38% QoQ; Net NPA at 0.38% vs 0.36% QoQ.
