Heated blanket with more than 6,000 five star ratings has ‘luxurious feel’

Whether you’re sitting on the couch watching TV, or working from home, chances are you’ve felt more than a little chilly recently. Autumn is officially here, bringing with it colder days and the constant battle with yourself over whether to turn your central heating on.

If you want to delay this as long as possible – and save yourself a bit of money on bills in the process – a heated blanket could be the perfect solution. And you don’t have to break the bank to get a really luxurious one, either.

Just take the Mia&Coco Electric Heated Blanket, which costs £44.99 on Amazon right now. There are other colourways to choose from – ranging from red to khaki – but prices slightly vary.

The blanket measures in at 120x160cm, so it’ll give you plenty of coverage and warmth. It’s made of flannel and sherpa materials, which are great for keeping you cosy, but the best thing about it is undoubtedly its heating capabilities.

It has 10 temperature levels you can select with a remote control, so you can really tailor it to how cold you’re feeling that day. It’s got an auto-timer you can set too – in case you use it when going to sleep, and don’t want it running all night. All that, and it’s machine washable – all you have to do is detach the cord and put it in the machine, keeping it fresher for longer.

And it would seem like this blanket has struck a chord with customers, racking up an average of 4.4 stars out of over 8,400 ratings on Amazon. “This blanket has a lovely luxurious feel to it. The controls are easy to use and it is very toasty on the higher setting! Good size too. Highly recommend,” one happy shopper raved.

Another agreed: “Really soft and cosy heated throw, lovely to put over knees and feet whilst watching TV.” While a third agreed: “It’s SO good! I can wrap it right round myself, round my shoulders, back and front, with plenty of room to spare, so it’s really snuggly, and it covers the top of my legs.”

But you can’t win over everyone, and the blanket attracted a few mild critiques from customers. “It’s slightly smaller than I’d like,” one shopper wrote. “The inner white fluffy lining sheds,” another warned.

If you liked the idea of saving some money on your central heating with a blanket like this, you could also look to the Dreamland Intelliheat Faux Fur Warming Throw in Alaskan Husky, which costs £89.99 from Boots, reduced from £129.99. On the cheaper end of the spectrum is the Glamhaus Heated Throw Electric Fleece Over Blanket, which costs £39.99 (down from £49.99) at Robert Dyas.
