Here’s What It’s Like To Buy Justin Bieber’s Bugatti

Popular YouTube, car broker, and onetime Cannonball record holder Ed Bolian has bought the car he’s been dreaming about since high school, the 12-year-old French/German extension of Ferdinand Piech’s ego, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. After years of dreaming about owning this moonshot hypercar from the Volkswagen Group, Bolian finally managed to get his grubby little mitts on the keys to this bright red monster once owned by Canadian crooner Justin Bieber.

Okay, sure, it has a check engine light, needs some work, and a few of the pieces (including the so-called speed key that unlocks the car’s top speed) have gone missing over the years. But it’s still a dream come true.

I bought a Bugatti!

Unlike most Bugatti owners, Bolian actually plans to drive this one. In fact, his ownership of the car started with a lengthy roadtrip, driving the car home from the south Florida dealership to his home in Atlanta, Georgia. On its own, that’s a 700-mile road trip. I’m sure there are Veyrons out there that have never driven that far in their time on earth, so good for him adding miles to the odometer. There’s nothing worse than a car that sits around not being driven, in my estimation.

I’ve never really understood the appeal of the Veyron. This car was built to hit a top speed number, but it’s not like you can ever actually drive the car that fast. So what do you do with a car like this? I guess you can take it to a car show and stunt on all the fools who don’t have as much money as you do. That’s something, I suppose. At the end of the day, it’s nice to see people excited about cars, and Bolian is seriously excited about his newest purchase. It sure is red.
