Hero Karizma XMR launch this week: Expected price, engine, design and more

Hero MotoCorp is all set to re-introduce the Karizma nameplate in India, with a launch scheduled for this week. The two-wheeler manufacturer has released a host teasers of the motorcycle ahead of the much-hyped launch on August 29, giving us a sneak-peek of a host of design elements like the LED headlamps, DRLs, the silhouette, the return of the iconic yellow colour which was seen on the first-gen Karizma, and even indicating the top speed and rev limit of the motorcycle.
Talking about the design, the new Karizma, the latest teaser revealed its wide-looking headlamp with twin LED DRLs on either side, alloy wheels, a visor, as well as XMR badging on the fairing. The teaser hints that the motorcycle will get a split-seat setup, while other details are yet to be ascertained. A previous spy shot also revealed that the Karizma will be available in a red paint scheme.

Hero MotoCorp’s media invite to TOI Auto was in the form of a digital display mimicking what is possibly the digital instrument cluster that will be equipped on the Karizma XMR. On the display, the tachometer redlines at 10,000 rpm in sixth gear, hitting a top speed of 143 kmph. The indicative fuel efficiency figure reads 32.8 kmpl. Do note that these figures are yet to be confirmed by Hero MotoCorp.
Powering the new Hero Karizma will likely be a 210 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor producing about 25 hp of power, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Features on offer will likely include a TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, single- or dual-channel ABS, dual disc brakes, and so on. Bollywood superstar Hritikh Roshan has returned as Karizma’s brand ambassador too, just like the first-gen model.
Furthermore, Hero MotoCorp had also released another teaser recently, which seemed indicative of the Karizma XMR’s price! The teaser asks viewers to ‘decode the digits’, with the spinner stopping at numbers 2,00,500, 2,10,000, 2,15,000, 2,20,000, and 2,25,000. This could indeed be the pricing of the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR, starting from Rs 2.05 lakh, going up to Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom), but Hero MotoCorp is yet to confirm if that’s the case, just like the top speed and mileage figures.
