A health check revealed a fatty liver, and I often had leg cramps. My shirt size had grown to XXL. After some introspection, I decided to transform my health completely and opted for a healthy lifestyle,” says Ankur Chhabra speaking exclusively with India.com.

Ankur Chhabra lost 32 kgs in nearly 90 days by adhering to a very simple dedicated diet and exercise routine. Here is his inspiring journey of embarking on a happier and healthier life and how!

What Was Your Weight Loss Diet And Routine?

Ankur incorporated fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. Only proteinaceous diet and he started workout at least 3-4 hours a day which included rigorous exercise, running, skipping etc. Here is Ankur Chhabra’s detailed diet plan:

  • Around 05:00 to 06:00 AM in the morning, on an empty stomach, I consume chia seeds water, Cumin water, or Ajwain water (which were soaked overnight), accompanied by 5 soaked almonds.
  • For breakfast, between 07:00 and 07:30 AM, I have a small portion of Poha, three egg whites, and black coffee without sugar.
  • Around 11:00 AM, I drink one cup of green tea along with any seasonal fruits.
  • Lunch at 1:00 PM consists of seasonal fruit and sprouts. Occasionally, I also have one ragi dosa with sambar and a glass of buttermilk, or one chapati with any vegetable (up to 100 grams), buttermilk, and salad.
  • At around 3:00 PM, I have coconut water or herbal tea, complemented by a handful of roasted chana, makhana, or mixed seeds.
  • Between 05:00pm and 06:00pm, my dinner includes either five boiled egg whites or 100 grams of mixed vegetables (excluding potatoes) with one chapati, or one Moong, oats, or Suji chilla.
  • Approximately 1.5 hours after dinner, I consume a night drink in the form of a cup of green tea or basil seeds.
  • If I feel hungry in between meals, I opt for fruits, roasted lotus seeds, and black coffee without sugar.
  • To stay hydrated, I ensure to drink at least 3 liters of water daily and have unsweetened black coffee twice a day.

Did You Completely Cut Down on Sugar?

Yes, initially 100% cut down on sugar in all ways .In all honesty, I believe that the key is to know how much and what you consume at different times of the day, rather than trying to cut back on your sugar intake after all our body also need little bit sugar intake in a week.

Did You Have Cheat Meals?

Indeed, I used to have cheat meals every 15 days. Typically, I enjoyed eating dal makhani, tandoori wheat roti, and any paneer curry in limited portion.

What is One Rule That You Abide by For Losing Weight?

No sugar, no maida, no fried and no packet snacks, no carbonated drink and workout at least 1 hour in a day.

What Was One Thing That Worked Best For You?

The first thing you should do is schedule your entire day’s activities. This should include getting up early, exercising, or going for a walk. It should also include a diet that specifies what should be consumed in what amounts and that everyone can access online to check on their required intake. Finally, the most crucial thing is to get seven to eight hours of sleep every night in order to achieve the best results. Along with, I completed my dinner around between 5:00 PM to 06:00 PM which was the key driver in weight loss journey.

I was great lover of soft drinks and daal makhani. But now I am totally out of it. That was major challenge for me to get rid out of it. And, I would say large portion of the population in the modern world is affected by this problem, which is brought on by the improper lifestyle we lead.

The main difficulty I encountered was getting into the habit and finding self-motivation.
