Condensation occurs when the warm air inside your home meets the cold glass of your windows.

If left untouched, window frames can become damp and rot or even lead to mould growth.

But to keep the moisture off your windows, Anita swears by the “magic” cleaning method.

“Absolutely blown away by this winter home hack,” she said in her Instagram post.

“The best winter home hack and it’s for all that condensation build up we get at the bottom of our glass windows and doors in winter.

“This condensation problem is happening all over my home.”

The founder of Mise En Place suggested applying dishwashing liquid to your windows with a dry microfibre cloth.

“The dishwashing liquid creates a barrier which stops condensation coming back,” Anita explained.

“Starting from the top, rub vigorously all over the window glass and the frame until dry.

“If your cloth is getting too wet, replace it with a dry one and keep on going.”

She said the results speak for themselves.

“Come back a day later and you will be astounded by how well this works,” she said.

“This is seriously the best winter home hack ever.”

To get the best results, she suggested cleaning and drying the windows first, before applying the dishwashing liquid.

“Works much better this way,” she said.

Anita filmed herself applying the dishwashing detergent to one of her windows.

The following day, she showed viewers the stark difference between the windows with and without detergent.

“I only used this magic hack on the middle window because I wanted you to see the difference a day after,” she said.

“Look at this, I’m going to be going around and doing the whole house now.”

Her video has been viewed more than 160,000 times — with many saying they couldn’t wait to give it a go while others confirmed the window trick worked.

“This worked well on one pane. I was so blown away, I’ve done them all,” one said.

Another shared: “Thanks for the tip, worked really well.”

One revealed: “It makes perfect sense. A refrigeration mechanic told me to wipe neat detergent along the interior walls and surfaces of my freezer to prevent frost and ice build-up.”

Another added: “Thank you. We were just talking about what we were doing to stop this happening such a damp rid but going to give this a try.”

Meanwhile, one suggested: “Shaving cream also works. It disappears when you rub it in and works like magic.”
