What is OMAD Diet?
In a video uploaded by Vinu, she shared her diet routine as per the OMAD trend. “Day 116 of my one meal a day journey (OMAD) 97kg to 77.8kg,” reads her caption. In the video she says, ” My day begins with a glass of jeera water and cinnamon, water on empty stomach followed by a 23 hour fast that I break at 5pm with healthy snack. I enjoy one balanced meal at 5:30 pm high protein, rich fibre and right amount of complex carbs. I focus on nutrition and not calories. I finish the day with 26K step.”
All about OMAD diet
OMAD is a form of intermittent fasting that has gained popularity for its simplicity and potential health benefits. As the name suggests, it involves consuming all your daily calories in a single meal, typically within a one-hour eating window. The OMAD diet may help with weight loss due to reduced calorie intake and increased fat burning during the fasting period. The simplicity of one meal can also reduce the temptation to snack throughout the day. While it did work for Vino, it has certain drawbacks as well – hunger craving, nutrient deficiency, etc.
The OMAD diet can be a powerful tool for weight loss and metabolic health for those who find it aligns with their lifestyle. However, it’s crucial to approach it mindfully, ensuring balanced nutrition and listening to your body’s needs. As with any dietary change, consulting with a healthcare professional before starting the OMAD diet is advisable, especially for individuals with specific health concerns.
