Hunza G, Smythson Collaborate on a Set of Charming Notebooks

SUMMER NOTES: What’s summer without a little color coordination?

Hunza G, the London-based swimwear brand has teamed up with Smythson to reimagine the brand’s Chelsea notebooks in charming shades of bubblegum pink, lime and orange launching on July 17.

The three bright hues are available in a number of swimwear styles from Hunza G, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

“I have always been a huge fan of Smythson and used their notebooks since I was first able to buy one aged 20. I thought it was a really cute summer moment to make some fun, kitsch notepads that felt reflective of both brands,” said Georgiana Huddart, creative director of Hunza G in an interview.

“It was really exciting to work with Smythson because they are the best at what they do — I love the idea of being on my summer holiday by a pool, writing in my bright pink notepad in my bubblegum pink Hunza G,” she added.

Each notebook is stamped in gold with a witty summer phrase: The Hot List, Protect Sunshine or Making Waves, which is a nod to the brand’s Original Crinkle fabric.

“Both our brands are about delicious color, playful levity and effortless chic,” said Luc Goidadin, creative director of Smythson.

It’s a collaboration of niches for both brands — one specializes in swimwear and the other primarily in stationery. “We both sit within a more fashion space than is found typical for our categories — I don’t think swimwear and stationary is a natural link as a product collaboration, so it felt fun and unusual,” said Huddart.

The notebooks have all the signature makings of a Smythson product featuring 144 pages of gilt-edged, pale blue featherweight paper that retail for 100 British pounds.
