Team India lost three wickets in the first hour’s play on Day 1 of their 1st Test vs Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were dismissed for 6 each and all three wickets went to Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be eyeing big records as India begin a long home series with the first of two Test matches against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday (September 19). Kohli needs 58 runs to complete 27,000 runs in international cricket and become the 1st player to achieve this feat in less than 600 innings.
While India captain Rohit needs one more hundred to complete his 10th ton in World Test Championships (WTC) and become the first Indian to achieve this feat. However, the Bangladesh cricket team will not be pushovers by any means, having whitewashed Pakistan 2-0 in their last Test series away from home.
The Chennai Test will also see the return of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant into the side after nearly 2 years after his horrific car accident. He will come into the side in place of Dhruv Jurel.
