India will be eyeing a gold rush on Day 5 of the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024 on Monday (September 2). Sumit Antil, who won gold in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 in the men’s javelin event, will be defending his title later on Monday.

India can win two more gold medals from the badminton events with Suhas Yathiraj competing in the SL4 final while Thulasimathi Murugesan will be vying for the title in the women’s singles SU5 event. India has secured a total of seven medals at the Paris Paralympics 2024, with one gold medal, two silvers, and four bronze medals till Sunday night.

This year, India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent ever, comprising 84 athletes across 12 sports. Tokyo 2020 was India’s most successful Paralympic Games, with the country winning 19 medals, including five golds, eight silver and six bronzes.
