Changes are afoot at the top of Inditex. As announced by the Galician company to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) on Wednesday, September 11, coinciding with the release of its first-half results, two of its key executives have been promoted to its highest executive committee.

Following a proposal by the nominations committee, the board of directors, chaired by Marta Ortega, has approved the “upcoming addition” of two heads of its youth-oriented brands to its executive committee: Antonio Flórez de la Fuente, who has been leading Bershka since 2018 and has been with the company since 1991; and Jordi Triquell Valls, the main figure at Stradivarius since the brand became part of the Galician group in 1999.

Until now, Inditex’s executive committee has been composed of its president, Marta Ortega; the director of Zara, Óscar Pérez Marcote; the director of Massimo Dutti, Jorge Pérez Marcote; the general finance director, Ignacio Fernández; the financial and operations director of Zara, Miguel Díaz Miranda; the digital director, Javier García Torralbo; the general director of people, Begoña López-Cano; the sustainability director, Javier Losada Montero; and the women’s director of Zara, Beatriz Padín.

In June, the committee saw a reshuffle following the departure of one of its members, Pablo del Bado. The notable executive and director of the Pull&Bear chain was replaced by Lucian Dorobantu, former director of Inditex in Russia, who has not yet been promoted to the executive committee.

In the first half of the year, Inditex increased its revenue by 7.2%, reaching 18.065 billion euros, while its net profit grew by 10.1% to 2.768 billion euros. By chain, Zara remains the company’s flagship, recording a turnover of 13.033 billion euros. Meanwhile, Bershka and Stradivarius, the chains led by the newly appointed members of the executive committee, achieved sales of up to 1.382 billion and 1.255 billion euros, respectively.
