Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy stressed on the necessity of parents’ involvement in fostering disciplined kids during a book launch event in Bengaluru.
While sharing his thoughts on his family’s approach to education, Murthy asserted that it is important to have a dedicated time for study and a ban on television.
The Infosys founder said to develop a disciplined learning environment, parents’ involvement is an important factor to build the same to foster their children. He said such an environment gives an opportunity to children so they can seek clarification from their parents.
While talking to reporters after unveiling Paul Hewitt’s 13th edition of Pearson’s book Conceptual Physics, Murthy said Sudha Murty’s logic was if she was watching TV she can’t tell her children to study. So she was of the view that She sacrificed her TV time and preferred to study.
Murthy also added that parents may not have academic expertise but by creating such an environment can lead them to set an example and it would influence the study habits of their children.
