New York: India captain Rohit Sharma survived an injury scare after the opener was hit by a rising Joshua Little delivery against Ireland during their Group A encounter in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. The incident took place on the first ball of the 10th over as he tried to hit across the line.
Little bowled a length ball that kicked up off the surface and hit Rohit on the left elbow. Rohit was seen grimacing in pain before the physio came out to check on the right-hander. He left the field immediately. Earlier, Rohit was hit on the same arm and probably felt discomfort because of it.
At the time of retiring hurt, Rohit was on 52 off 37 balls with three fours and three sixes. After the game was finished, Rohit came out and signalled he is alright.
