Inside Roger Vivier’s Parisian Shoe Garden With Nicola Peltz, Eva Green, and More

Each season in Paris, Roger Vivier stages a spellbinding presentation that mixes fashion with a little bit of performance, artisanal craft and a lot of celebs. And, so on chilly Friday in Paris, the brand took over the Hôtel de Boisgelin and brought a garden-themed collection to life, complete with golden palm trees and rococo chandeliers, cabbage patches full of suede crystal-covered kitten heels, and an exceptional amount of rosy pink and muted mint green hues.

“This season, all around the world, it’s super, super uncertain,” said Roger Vivier, creative director Gherardo Felloni of the spring 2025 collection. “It’s a really strange moment. I wanted to get inside and do something that I really love that makes me safe and makes me comfortable.”

Titled “Jardin à la Vivier” Felloni took inspiration from every aspect and angle of the garden and its flowers, decking out the venue in a kaleidoscopic narrative of garden greenery all perfectly decorated with pastel shoes, bags, and jewelry to match. And the usual Roger Vivier styles got a seasonal makeover with woven wicker, canvas, and raffia too. The label also introduced the Belle Vivier bag, a day bag inspired by 1930s luggage, and reinterpreted the Belle Vivier shoe, famously worn by Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour (1967), into a new ballerina shape. A favorite of Hollywood icon Marlene Dietrich–the Marlene shoe, originally created by Roger Vivier in 1955, was now reimagined as an embellished mule and a sandal.

“The theme of the collection is quite direct,” says Felloni with a laugh. “It’s quite simple and I think that now everybody, especially designers of course, I think for me it’s the right choice to focus on what we really love and what we are comfortable with. To rebuild and consolidate what we really love and what we believe in, I think it’s a good start for the next season.”

Aside from well-heeled clients and fantastic shoe fanatics dressed to the nines in spades of Vivier shoes in pastels and crystals, Eva Green, Laetitia Casta, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Anna Cleveland, Pat Cleveland, Ines de la Fressange, and Victoria Justice, all sipped cocktails and champagne in between snapping photos of the Instagram-ready displays. Some may have just called it a garden of paradise for shoe lovers.
