CASTRO VALLEY – Authorities on Monday were investigating a road-rage shooting in Castro Valley.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said the 70-year-old victim and his dog were not injured.
The incident began around 12:40 p.m. Monday when the suspect tried to pass the victim near Foothill Boulevard and Castro Valley Boulevard, according to the sheriff’s office. It continued onto eastbound Castro Valley Boulevard to Redwood Road.
At one point, the suspect fired twice into the bed of the victim’s pickup truck, the sheriff’s office said. The victim then drove to a California Highway Patrol station on Redwood Road.
“The victim was startled,” according to the sheriff’s office, “but fortunately, unharmed.”
The suspect vehicle was described as a white or light-colored sedan.
