Jason Kelce smashes phone after man calls Travis homophobic slur

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — Jason Kelce, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center, is going viral on social media again. But this time, it isn’t for his usual goofy antics or New Heights commentary.

On Saturday afternoon, a video was posted to X showing the former NFL star smashing a man’s phone after he called his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a homophobic slur for dating pop star Taylor Swift.

In the video, Jason can be seen walking on the street through a crowd of people, many of which are cheering, shouting his name and trying to get his attention.

Within seconds though, a man can audibly be heard yelling a slur at Jason, calling his brother the homophobic term for dating Taylor Swift.

Jason appeared to have not heard or simply ignored the initial commentary, but the video showed him quickly stopping in his tracks before turning around to face the man. He then grabbed the phone and spiked it on the ground before taking it with him.

The incident took place after the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions game on Saturday. It was alleged on social media that the man who shouted the slur at Jason may have been a student at Penn State, although this has not been confirmed.

Since September 2023, Travis and Taylor have filled headlines and tabloids with their relationship. The couple has been dating for more than a year, and the incident is just one of many negative public criticisms and commentary about the football star and pop icon.

However, it seemed as though Saturday’s incident may have been the tipping point for big brother Jason.

Currently, the retired NFL star has not commented on the incident nor has Travis, Taylor or the university.
