The state of Jennifer Lopez’ and Ben Affleck’s marriage is practically a summertime obsession with millions on social media, so you can imagine what happened when J. Lo shopped around the Hamptons Friday afternoon.
The multi-Grammy winner ducked into LoveShackFancy in Sag Harbor with her stepdaughter Violet Affleck to check out the summer dresses. Shortly after their arrival, the boutique’s door was locked and it stopped admitting other shoppers for about an hour to give the pair more privacy, according to a company salesperson. However, the few shoppers who were already browsing in the ultra-girly space were allowed to stay.
The “This is Me Now” musician was described by a LoveShackFancy sales associate as “very kind and very friendly.” The “Jenny From the Block” singer was gifted one of LoveShackFancy’s signature looks – the brand’s “Norma” dress, which retails for $595. Lopez and Affleck also shopped for other things before heading out onto the sidewalk, where several fans were waiting and taking smartphone photos, the LoveShackFancy store employee said.
Having lived in the Hamptons all her life, the LoveShackFancy employee said that she is used to dealing with celebrities and treated Lopez “like everyone else.”
LoveShackFancy’s store at 390 Bleecker Street in New York City is unabashedly feminine and romantic.

Affleck has been grabbing her own headlines this week, having appeared on Tuesday at a Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting to advocate against mask bans and to ensure that those who want or need extra protection against viruses have access to masks. The self-described “Los Angeles resident” and “first-time voter” said that she contracted a post-viral condition in 2019. The 18-year-old is frequently photographed wearing a mask, and she was on Friday. There wasn’t any conversation about masks Friday afternoon, though, at LoveShackFancy.
Affleck, whose mother is Jennifer Garner, picked out a few pieces including LoveShackFancy’s white “Carletta” crop top with red embroidered flowers. The item is offered on the company’s site for $225.

As for whether Friday’s star sighting of Lopez will make for a crazy weekend sales-wise in the Sag Harbor store, the salesperson (who has been with the company for nearly a year) said, “Maybe not. LoveShackFancy is really well-known. We’ve just been making so much money throughout these last few weeks. To be honest, she’s just another customer [laughs.]”
Apparently, Lopez and Affleck had more shopping to do and were said to have visited another Hamptons boutique – Relax in Bridgehampton, which specializes in pajamas and lingerie.
