Jimmy Choo is changing its address in Tuscany. The British luxury shoemaker, part of the American Capri Group, which also owns Versace and Michael Kors, will relocate by the end of 2024. It is moving to larger headquarters in Scandicci, near Florence, where it has had a presence for several years. This move could signal further developments in the region, known for its expertise in leather and leather goods production.

The brand, currently situated in Scandicci, will relocate its hundred or so employees from its current address to a new site spanning nearly 3,000 square meters on Via Don Lorenzo Perosi, opposite Gucci. For Jimmy Choo, this relocation represents the establishment of a corporate headquarters rather than a production site, as clarified by the company.

At present, the shoemaker doesn’t have a dedicated factory in Italy. It relies on local suppliers for its production and partners with the shoemaker Alberto Gozzi, located in Pistoia, Tuscany, acquired by Capri in 2019. Alberto Gozzi also supplies the other two brands within the group.

With this new address, Jimmy Choo, renowned for its sexy and sophisticated shoes and having opened its first store in Florence in 2018, showcases its intent to strengthen its foothold in Tuscany, potentially making further investments in the region in the coming years.

Capri, on the brink of being acquired by its competitor Tapestry, experienced a near 10% decline in retail sales in the second quarter of its ongoing fiscal year due to a slowdown in consumer demand, primarily in the American market. During this period, Jimmy Choo’s revenue fell by 7% to $132 million (€123.72 million).
