JOOR launches sustainability-focused Passport event

Online wholesale giant JOOR is focusing on sustainability in a special event that runs until early June. It has created a “digital destination to showcase notable sustainable brands from around the world”.

The Sustainability in Focus show on JOOR Passport aims to “raise visibility of sustainable collections and enable global retailers to source eco-friendly products for their stores”.

JOOR Passport is a centralised digital destination where buyers can explore and shop global fashion weeks and tradeshow events. To date, it has hosted over 90 fashion events, attracting over 450,000 retail visitors from 174 countries. And it said, nearly 9,000 brands have participated in Passport events, with nearly a million products sold.

This latest event has been launched to coincide with Earth Month and showcases 136 brands “investing in and committed to supporting sustainability through initiatives such as sustainable materials, manufacturing, packaging, circularity, and fair trade/labour practices”.

The collection of brands featured includes Ganni, Johnstons of Elgin, Marine Serre, Nanushka, Pangaia, Stella McCartney, Vilebrequin, Vivienne Westwood, and Zadig & Voltaire, among others.

Amanda McCormick Bacal, SVP of Marketing, said that the company is proud to highlight such brands, giving them “additional visibility and connecting them with the world’s best retailers through our vast network of global fashion buyers”.

The company also emphasised its own sustainability credentials with its online-only business model helping brands and retailers “reduce their travel and carbon emissions, as well as reduce sample production and printing needs”. And it also has an eco-friendly filter for those on the site to search by.
