Katy Perry adds third Adelaide show to Australian tour after tickets for two concerts sell out

Pop star Katy Perry has added a third Adelaide show to her 2025 The Lifetimes Tour after initially excluding the city from her plans altogether.

The South Australian Government said it convinced Perry to perform at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre after Premier Peter Malinauskas met Perry when she performed at the AFL Grand Final.

Soon after, Perry’s management announced she would play an Adelaide show on Thursday, June 26 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

That was followed by promotions for a second show on Friday June 27.

But when those shows sold out, the promoters on Tuesday announced a third show for Sunday, June 29.

Entertainment company TEG Dainty said the new shows were added following “incredible” demand.

On Tuesday morning, just before tickets to the first two Adelaide shows went on sale at 12pm, a line of fans had gathered at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to secure seats.

Adelaide fan, Tanya DeBono secured the last two seats on the dance floor of one of Perry’s concert dates.

She said online tickets for the first two shows announced sold out within minutes.

“We’ve all been waiting a long time … (we’re) very excited, seeing her at the (AFL) Grand Final, she was amazing, I can’t wait to see her live,” DeBono said.

Tickets for the third Adelaide show will go live on October 1 at 2pm.

Malinauskas said there was no cash payment to Perry to perform in Adelaide, but fees associated with the venue were reduced.

Perry is also set to perform in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.

The tour is in support of her new album, 143, which signals a reinvention for the pop star.

Excitedly speaking about the new tour on Sunrise, Perry said fans loved her hit, 2010 mega-hit Firework — which she said usually gets the biggest response from the crowd.

“Everybody loves it. Doesn’t matter who you are, how young, how mature, everyone is singing along to that song,” she said.

“That’s what I typically end my show with. The celebratory moment of life.”

The American singer went on to talk about how she still gets butterflies before hitting the stage.

“I usually do a lot of prep (before getting on stage). So I don’t get nerves. I definitely get butterflies. Especially during this era where everything has a bit of butterflies around it. There will definitely be butterflies in the arenas.”
