KitchenAid launches four new coffee machines to the Australian market to make delicious espresso at home

When KitchenAid decides to enter a new market it doesn’t do so lightly.

Whether you know the luxury kitchenware appliance business for its universally loved Stand Mixers or you’ve joined the fan club more recently with the handy dandy Go Cordless range, there is no question KitchenAid has a chokehold on amatuer cooks and premium chefs alike.

So when I first heard the brand was about to make a foray into coffee machines my first thought was: “What will KitchenAid bring to this already pretty saturated market?”

Every kitchen tech brand under the sun has produced a coffee machine of some description, whether that be handheld, or one with pre-set functions, right up to ones that look and feel like they’re meant to be in a local coffee shop.

But for KitchenAid there is always something you haven’t thought of yet, a problem you didn’t even realise needed a solution, and that’s what the four pieces from the Espresso Collection do best.

The brand has finally made the four machines available for pre-order in Australia and you can choose from a a $999 semi automatic coffee machine, the $1,799 fully automatic K6, the $2,199 fully automatic K7 and finally the $2,599 fully automatic K8.

With each price increase shoppers get a broader range of features but that doesn’t mean the cheapest option skimps out on any of the premium factors that still make it top of the range.

“The new KitchenAid Espresso Collection was created to elevate your coffee ritual, bringing together cutting-edge technology and timeless design,” Marketing Director at KitchenAid Australia & New Zealand Rebecca Edwards said.

“These thoughtfully designed semi-automatic and fully-automatic espresso machines are a testament to the brand’s commitment to delivering unparalleled quality and style inevery cup.”

The semi automatic espresso machine is designed for you to plug and play like a barista would complete with a multi-angle steam wand, easy tamp portafilter and a burr grinder.

It’s for the coffee maker who doesn’t mind performing the actual act of making a coffee, with the ability to fully customise your espresso drink to your exact specification.

Meanwhile the fully automatic espresso machines, of which there are three, allow you to enjoy all of your favourite espresso drinks at the touch of a button instead.

You can create personalised drinks and choose from 15+ (K6), 20+ (K7) or 40+ (K8) recipe options like Espresso, Americano, Latte and Cappuccino.

They have different sized screens depending on price, with the most expensive option giving the customer the opportunity to touch (the others are run by left and right buttons).

The K8 is the best option for those who drink plant-based milk because it allows for steaming, heating and frothing not just dairy, but also alternative plant-based milks like almond, oat or soy with the touch of a button.

All of the coffee machines are incredibly easy to clean too, so you don’t have to slave away at the counter when all you want to do is drink.

All offerings in the KitchenAid Espresso Collection are certified by Quiet Mark as some of the quietest machines in the category, allowing you to start your mornings peacefully with an espresso machine that grinds and brews quietly.

“Sound profoundly affects our stress levels and productivity, making investing in world class acoustic design in the hub of your home an investment in the health and happiness of your loved ones,” Founder and CEO of Quiet Mark Certification Poppy Szkiler said.

“The KitchenAid brand’s shared passion andachievement in pioneering very quiet sound levels in the new KitchenAid Espresso Collection shows a mutual understanding of what consumers now need — innovative solutions designed to integrate seamlessly into the home.”

Each machine can be purchased in four colours — or three for the K6 — giving you the freedom to match your new KitchenAid device to your kitchen, just like you would a Stand Mixer.
