Koh brand behind viral cleaning product named ‘best in Australia’ slashes price of ‘incredible’ dish liquid by 30 per cent

The makers of a chemical-free cleaning solution that has been named the best multipurpose cleaner in Australia for the second year running have slashed the price of another of their most popular products by 30 per cent.

Koh – whose Universal Cleaner ($34.95 for 4L) has taken the internet by storm for its ability to banish stubborn kitchen, bathroom and general home stains – has reduced the price of its incredibly popular Universal Dish Liquid by 30 per cent.

The discount is in celebration of the dish liquid’s first year on the market.

The Koh Dish Starter Kit – which comprises 1.5L of the Universal Dish Liquid, a foaming spray bottle and four pack of sponges – typically costs $58.85 on the Koh website.

But it has been reduced to just $41.20 for a limited time only.

It does this via fast-working enzymes, which work to break down fats, oil and grease before your eyes.

Koh recommends that to use the Universal Dish Liquid, you use its foaming spray bottle, as it spreads the liquid more evenly for an effective clean as it foams on contact.

This is included in your Dish Starter Kit for $41.20.

The four dish sponges, also included in the kit, are made from FSC wood pulp, before they are dehydrated; then they grow to a full-size sponge when submerged in water.

Koh explains that dehydrated sponges are “better because they do not need a fungicidal to stop mould – common with sponges and can happen in transit before being sold“.

The sponges are also washable, meaning they are reusable countless times.

This fits with Koh’s overall sustainable promise – the Dish Liquid is also refillable.

Koh says that since launching the Universal Dish Liquid one year ago, it has “saved over 222,600 single-use rigid plastic containers – equal to nine tonnes of plastic – from ending up in landfill”.

Koh has also launched a Universal Laundry Liquid.

Shoppers who invest can use it as a pre-wash treatment, laundry liquid and fabric care solution.

The three-in-one buy has been infused with biodegradable enzymes designed to tackle the root causes of common laundry problems rather than merely masking them.

So how is Koh different to regular laundry liquid and why should you invest?

Formulated with biodegradable enzymes that work deeper to give you a more thorough, hygienic clean, the Universal Laundry Liquid is ultra-concentrated, but fragrance free, and it has been dermatologically tested on sensitive skin.

Koh won Canstar Blue’s Number One Multipurpose Cleaner of the year in 2023, after taking out the award in 2022 too.

This award was voted for by the Australian public, and it had never been won by the same brand twice – until now.

The brainchild of Sydney father, Adam Lindsay, Koh began when he became a father and realised many products were packed with chemicals.

The more Adam used regular cleaning products, the more aware and concerned he felt about their ingredients.

So he approached chemistry experts at UNSW Sydney.

After months of researching and testing, they came up with Koh – a cleaner suitable for the whole family and the whole house that is free from nasties and toxic chemicals.

A thrilled Adam spread the word about his new product, prompting fellow work-from-home dad, neighbour and friend, Justin Alexander, to come on board as a co-founder.

Together, they grew Koh from a local Bondi business at farmers’ markets to the Koh you know and love today – which is worth more than $40 million, according to a piece in the Australian Financial Review from 2021.
