DUBAI: Lebanese designer Nada Debs recently announced her newest collaboration with La Collection Privée of Dior to produce a collection of reinterpreted perfume cases.

Inspired by the emblematic white cases of La Collection Privée, Debs reinterpreted its curving lines by taking up the cannage motif, a design code of the House of Dior.

Debs said she paid tribute to pewter marquetry and hand-sculpting, and combined these two traditional techniques working in walnut wood, as well as mother of pearl, a highly precious material. These works of art create a link between tradition and contemporary art.

Debs, who has a strong connection with Japan, said: “’This Dior Cannage to me, is a timeless pattern that is reminiscent of the patterns of nature, especially with the intricate weaving pattern, which reflects on the handmade craft feeling.”

Wooden Cannage Case: An ode to walnut wood

For the single Bois Cannage Case, Debs drew inspiration from the natural beauty of wood, celebrating its manifold nuances and facets. A play of light and shadow, resulting from the engraved wood, mother of pearl and pewter, accentuates the details, giving rise to a sensory and visual experience.

The case is signed with the CD logo in mother of pearl, a noble material with a captivating iridescent surface that adds a finishing touch of light to the precious pieces.

The Bois Cannage Case, of which 1,000 numbered pieces are available, can hold a 250ml fragrance bottle, to be chosen from among the La Collection Privée perfumes.

Cannage Trinité Nacré case: A masterpiece of mother of pearl and walnut wood

Designed in walnut wood and delicate mother of pearl that glimmers in the light, the Trinity Mother of Pearl Case is meticulously engraved with the geometric lines of the Dior Cannage pattern. A play of light sees every iridescent shimmer, every grain of wood and every hint of texture reveals our passion and devotion to the material, and makes each piece unique. The object stands not only as a case, but also as a tribute to time-honoured expertise and to nature in all its beauty.

Designed to hold a trio of 250ml La Collection Privée fragrances, the Cannage Trinité Nacré Case is a feat of craftsmanship. Exquisitely rare, it is available in 20 numbered pieces.
