Lennon Gallagher Stars in Burberry’s Second Classics Edit

LONDON — Burberry is back for a second installment of its Classics edit with two new faces.

The campaign, shot by Davit Giorgadze, features model Kai-Isaiah Jamal and Lennon Gallagher, the son of Liam Gallagher, the former lead vocalist of the rock band Oasis, and British actress Patsy Kensit.

Building on the debut Classics collection, this time chief creative officer Daniel Lee has taken a more monochromatic approach by injecting shades of black and white with tints of red and blue across trenchcoats, car coats, Harrington jackets and sneakers.

In one image, Gallagher is leaning against a light lichen-colored wall that matches his trenchcoat and a printed bag that was inspired by the British brand’s famous trenchcoats.

The debut line featured models Iris Law and Quinn Kirwan, and is part of the ReBurberry program, the British luxury brand’s commitment to responsibility and circularity with a focus on three key pillars: product, packaging and services.

The new campaign hits as Burberry is seeing a major internal change.

Joshua Schulman was named chief executive officer of the brand last week, amid a 22 percent decline in first-quarter retail revenue and the risk of an operating loss in the first fiscal half.

Schulman, 52, succeeds Jonathan Akeroyd, who was ousted two years into his tenure during one of the most brutal macroeconomic periods the luxury goods industry has witnessed in more than a decade. An accomplished retailer and brand builder, Schulman took up his job on July 18 following the surprise announcement by Burberry two days earlier before markets opened.
