B&H celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and one of the coolest products associated with the celebration — a special edition custom-made Lego set showing the iconic B&H SuperStore — is now $50 off.
The 297-piece set includes custom-printed Lego bricks, complete with B&H’s logo, a pair of store employee mini-figs, a laptop, a camera, and lens props.
“Build your very own display of your favorite photo/video shop with this 50th Anniversary Special Edition SuperStore Custom Model from B&H. Included are 297 Lego bricks featuring two mini B&H store employee figures with custom B&H vest torsos, B&H SuperStore bag designs, and a SuperStore tote,” B&H explains.
“All the scratch-resistant custom printing was done on an eco-friendly printer. The outside of the model is made at trophy scale while the inside is mini-figure scale,” the photography retailer continues.
It is available now for $99.95, a $50 instant savings compared to its original price.
It is yet another in a long list of photography-themed Lego sets, joining the Lego Polaroid OneStep camera and the Lego Creator Retro Camera set. Someday, photographers may also be able to buy a landscape photography Lego set, which has been well-received on Lego’s crowd-sourced Ideas website.
PetaPixel has also featured many projects where photographers use Lego bricks to bring ideas to life. Earlier this month, PetaPixel spoke with photographer Benedek Lampert about a project he did to recreate Moon mission photos using Lego bricks, clever lighting, and homemade props. In 2021, the photographer even worked with Lego on an official Star Wars project.
Last year, professional photographer Andrei Duman joined forces with world-renowned Lego artist Nathan Sawaya for a beautiful Lego photography project, Organogenesis: Building Blocks of Life. The project relied upon meticulous sculptures and incredible photo compositing to bring various human organs and body parts to life in a blocky, Minecraft-ian style.
Lego is fully aware of the overlap between Lego and photography. The company even has a book, Minifigure Photography, to help people (kids, mostly) take better photos of their Lego minifigures. “Photo tricks for your bricks!” Lego explains.
