Louis Vuitton is the most searched for luxury brand online in 2023, according to Google data obtained by Watch Pilot.
With a staggering 118 million annual searches, the French brand “resonates at an unparalleled scale, a reflection of its enduring legacy and the desirability of its luxury handbags,” according Watch Pilot.
Gucci comes in second place as the world’s most wanted designer brand, with 66.9 million annual searches, beating out fellow designers “that make up the quintessential core of luxury handbag brands,” the firm added.
Rounding out the top ten are Dior (52.9 million); Chanel and Coach (41.2 million); Massimo Dutti (40.5 million); Prada (29.4 million); Versace (27.5 million); Alexander McQueen (21.1 million); and Kate Spade (20.5 million).
By country, Luxembourg is the most designer-obsessed country in the world, with over 494,000 searches a year per 100,000 people, with Louis Vuitton being the most searched for brand with over 117,000 searches.
France takes second place as the country with the highest number of searches for designer brands, with over 66,600 searches per 100,000 people. The most-wanted designer in France is also Louis Vuitton which had a whopping 8.5 million searches.
According to Watch Pilot, the world’s most wanted jewellery piece is the iconic Van Cleef & Arpels Bracelet, with 4.9 million searches in 2023 alone, while the Dior Saddle, with 2.6 million searches, is the most searched for designer handbag.
