Louis Vuitton names K-pop star Lisa new ambassador

Louis Vuitton announced on Tuesday the appointment of Korean music superstar, Lisa, as its newest house ambassador.

Lisa – Louis Vuitton

Born Lalisa Manobal, Lisa first made a name for herself as a member of K-pop band BlackPink, which formed in 2016. Since its inception, the girl band has won several accolades and achieved chart-topping hits, opening the door for the Thai-born singer to launch as a solo artist.

Most recently, the star has released her new single ‘Rockstar’, under her recently launched management company, Lloud Co., in partnership with RCA Records. Beyond music, the singer is set to appear the upcoming season of the hit HBO Original series, ‘The White Lotus’, marking her major on-screen debut.

”I am very excited to welcome Lisa as a house ambassador. She has a daring spirit and charisma that I find incredibly compelling,”  said Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton artistic director of women’s collections.

“She is as bold and creative with her music as she is with her fashion, and it is a privilege to accompany her on this journey.”

While exact ambassador duties were not disclosed by the LVMH-owned house, Lisa has already attended the Louis Vuitton women’s FW24 show held in Paris earlier this year.

“In welcoming Lisa as a house ambassador, Louis Vuitton celebrates not only a partnership of style but of shared values in excellence, culture, and craft,” added the house in a statement.

The maison looks forward to an exciting collaborative journey ahead, one as boundless and dynamic as Lisa herself.”

In recent seasons, several Korean artists have become ambassadors for major luxury brands.

Dior, who already counts Jisoo from  BlackPink, and Park Jimin from boy band BTS, among its ranks, partnered with Haerin from the NewJeans group in April, 2023. Meanwhile, Kenzo announced the addition of Vernon from the Seventeen group in June that same year, followed by Versace’s appointment of Hyunjin from the K-pop group, Stray Kids in July, 2023.

Most recently, Burberry recruited Son Suk-ku as its latest brand ambassador with the South Korean actor being known for a career in TV and film where he’s played various roles across a range of genres.
