A new name has joined the LVMH team of athlete ambassadors, French Guiana-born fencer Enzo Lefort, a multi-medal winner in the foil discipline. LVMH has announced that Lefort will represent Louis Vuitton. The French luxury group has signed a number of French athletes as brand ambassadors ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, of which LVMH is a premium partner.

Swimmer Léon Marchand, five times world champion and current 400 m medley world record holder, also became an LV ambassador. While Mélanie de Jésus dos Santos, four-time artistic gymnastics European champion, signed up with Christian Dior. Now it is Lefort who is to join the ambassador family of the world’s number one luxury group.

The 31-year-old foil specialist born in Cayenne, French Guiana, has an amazing track record. Two time individual world champion, in 2019 and 2022, Lefort has also been three times European team champion and won a bronze medal at this year’s fencing world championships in Milan, as well as a silver medal at the European championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Lefort also won a team silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics, and a team gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

As well as a fencing champion Lefort is a photographer. He has published Behind the Mask, a book on the diverse mix of athletes within France’s fencing teams, and Olympic Backstage, a behind-the-scenes look at the Tokyo Olympics.

Lefort will also be the patron of the 2023-24 edition of LVMH’s Master Games, a competition among members of the Institut des métiers d’excellence (the luxury group’s vocational training institute), who are apprenticing as artisans, designers and sales professionals, which will be held for the first time in five different countries. Lefort will ask the apprentices “to reinterpret the codes of fencing in their own way and according to their specific expertise, imagining for example new outfits, new accessories, a redesigned foil, etc.,” said the group, adding that “the best creations will be exhibited at the LVMH pavilion during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
