LVMH is going on tour again to promote its skilled professions, or métiers d’excellence. These trades are at the heart of the luxury group’s business, in areas like manufacturing, artisanal skills, and sales. After a first session held in Paris on January 31, the ‘You & ME’ recruitment tour’s third edition will take LVMH to other cities in France and Italy. This annual initiative is designed to encourage secondary school, university and vocational training students, as well as those in professional retraining, to consider the group’s skilled professions.
The tour shines a spotlight on 280 different professions practised within the French luxury group. In 2023, it attracted 7,000 visitors between France and Italy, and allowed LVMH to fill over 3,500 posts in various departments, from design to craftsmanship trades and customer service, in both countries.
This year, the tour is offering 3,500 job opportunities within the group’s labels in France (1,000 with work-study and internship options, and 2,500 with fixed and indeterminate term contracts). In Italy, where LVMH’s skilled trades employ nearly 7,000 people (of the 100,000 employed worldwide), the group will offer 2,500 jobs between now and 2025.
The 2024 tour’s first session was held at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, with former NBA star Tony Parker as ambassador, and welcomed 3,000 visitors. The next sessions in France are scheduled in Orléans on February 15, Clichy-sous-Bois on February 29, Reims on March 13, and Lyons on March 27. The tour will then travel to Italy, with sessions in Florence on April 5 and 6, Padua on April 24, and a first date in Naples on May 7, replacing last year’s session in Novara.
“With 25 participating Maisons, we are engaging directly with our future talents to tell them about these amazing Métiers d’Excellence and guide them in choosing an inspiring career. We propose personalised coaching from our HR recruiters, plus an online space where anyone can prepare for an interview and apply for the latest job offers in our six business sectors,” said in press release Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH’s group executive vice-president Human Resources and Synergies.
