LVMH Métiers d’Art has acquired another Italian manufacturer. Last year, the French luxury giant’s division that specialises in rare materials sourcing went shopping in Tuscany, acquiring Ally Projects, an exotic skins tannery now called Heng Long Italy, and buying stakes in high-end leather apparel producer Robans and, in May, in long-established tannery Nuti Ivo.

LVMH Métiers d’Art has bought a 100% stake in Renato Menegatti, renaming it M.ON.DE

LVMH Métiers d’Art has now made a foray in the northern Italian region of Veneto, acquiring a 100% stake in Renato Menegatti, a producer based in Villaverla, near Vicenza. The company, a European leader in metal components since 1980, has been rechristened M.ON.DE, the acronym of metal-on-demand.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with a group of highly qualified professionals to reach new milestones in the metal-working sector,” said Matteo De Rosa, CEO of LVMH Métiers d’Art. “We are determined to continue to further the heritage of this top-notch producer with passion and innovation, and we are sure that this acquisition will enable us to continue to offer extraordinary luxury products to our customers, consolidating our position as the sector’s benchmark,” he added.

M.ON.DE is distinctive for its ability to adopt typical jewellery techniques to produce small metallic components for luxury accessories. The entire process is carried out in-house, from 3D designing to prototyping, manufacturing and the application of various finishing methods, including galvanising the parts with gold or palladium, and anodising, glazing and polishing them. M.ON.DE produces logos, chains, buckles, eyelets, zips and studs used for garments and leather goods.

Through this acquisition, LVMH Métiers d’Art has added to its pool of companies specialised in metal components, which also includes GBJM, founded in 2012 in Taiwan, and Jade Group, based in Portugal and France.
