“With this operation, we confirm our confidence and our investment in Riba and its peerless craftsmanship,” said Matteo de Rosa, CEO of LVMH Métiers d’Art. “This strategic decision is perfectly consistent with our mission. It enables us not only to continue to elevate the quality of our lambskin products, but also to promote our sustainable, innovative manufacturing vision, ensuring that [Riba’s] heritage and mastery of these traditional skills will be perpetuated for future generations,” he added.

Riba Guixà was founded in 1932 by Joan Riba Guixà in Caldes De Montbui, close to Barcelona. In the course of the 20th century, the company made exceptional progress, emerging as a leader in the treatment of the most refined leather materials, essential for the luxury industry. Joan Riba Guixà, heir to a family with a long-standing tradition in tannery, set operational specifications of the highest standard, enabling the company to establish itself as the benchmark in lambskin production, notably in Enterfino lambskin and Plongé leather. The company is currently run by the fourth generation of the Riba family.

The Métiers d’Art division was set up by LVMH in 2015 to support the top-notch producers and artisans owned by the group worldwide. It currently comprises 17 companies, including GBJM, Masoni, Heng Long, Jade Groupe, Nuti Ivo Group, Tanneries Roux, Verdeveleno and MONDE.
