Ahead of beach season, midrange shoemaker M.Gemi is joining forces with Cosabella, better known for its seamless lace and mesh lingerie, on a coordinated line of sandals and swim.
Launching online Friday, the capsule ranges from $110 to $248 and draws on the shared Italian heritage of both brands, introducing their bestsellers in exclusive colorways inspired by the Amalfi coast. “The beauty of the collection is you can’t go wrong pairing any of the styles with each other,” said Maria Gangemi, who founded M.Gemi in 2015.
Referring to her shoes as “my children,” Gangemi had a tough time selecting three favorites to include, but ultimately she landed on two flats: a classic Positano slide and a sportier double-buckle version with a footbed that’s “to die for.” The Lizza peep-toe platform was added as well because “she’s your girl for more glamorous poolside to aperitivo occasions,” Gangemi said.
They will be available in black and white as well as Sicillian Orange, Constance Blue and Latte alongside compression knit bathing suits from Cosabella’s Vita Marina line.
“Similar to the M.Gemi styles featured, the swimwear was crafted with versatility in mind and can easily transition from casual to elevated,” said Cosabella’s general manager Silvia Campello. Her highlights include the four-way convertible bandeau top and a pair of high-waisted bottoms that can be worn as a skirt.
Encouraging customers to build their own monochromatic or color-blocked looks, Campello added she was “incredibly excited” to bring the two Miami-based, female-owned brands together.
Gangemi was too. “Not only do I have great personal admiration for Silvia and her family at Cosabella, I feel a strong alignment in values,” she said. “It’s clear they have created a brand that believes in empowering women to feel confident and comfortable. From day one, the core focus for us is to create beautifully handcrafted shoes that fit and feel as good as they look.”
